Montemor 2026 is on! Bulletin #1 is now available

24/01/2026

For the first time in the history of European canoe sprint, Masters athletes will contest official European titles in 2026 in Montemor-o-Velho, racing over 200 m, 500 m, 1,000 m and even the classic 10,000 m distance.

These historic competitions will take place alongside the Senior events, from 10 to 14 June, at the High Performance Centre in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.

Today, Canoe Portugal — the main organizer of the Championships — together with Paddle Europe, the newly rebranded European Canoe Association, released the first official bulletin containing key information for the more than 40 National Federations expected to participate in this Olympic qualification event for Sprint and Paracanoe, as well as detailed guidance for the premiere participation of Masters at the European Championships.

The document outlines the Organizing Committee structure, general programme, venue facilities, the new entry systems, accommodation packages and participation fees, among other essential topics.

The bulletin is available in the Documents section at canoesprintportugal.com.
