Participation Rules

MASTERS RULES

An athlete can compete in a masters’ event in the year that they reach the lower limit of the age group. The masters’ age groups are defined with a minimum age of 35 years. (ICF 1.4.7)

In all* categories there will be 5 year age groups, starting in 35-39;

Maximum age group will be 75+ for all categories;

 

There is no limit of boats entered per country in each event; (ICF 13.13.1)

One athlete can only complete either in kayak or Canoe;

One athlete can only compete in one age group inside each boat type (K1, C1, K2, C2). This does not apply for Mix boats.

A minimum of 3 boats needs to be entered for the category to compete. If less than 3, those entries will be added to the younger age group;

In Team boats, athletes from different countries may compete together. (ICF 13.13.3). These boats will have no country defined in the entries

In K2/C2 or K4/C4 events the age of the youngest competitor will determine the age group in which a crew can compete. (ICF 13.13.2)

Each athlete can compete in a maximum of 2 single events and 3 team events. An additional 4th entry in team events is possible only if in mixed K4/C4.

Only categories competing with at least 3 participants will be awarded medals.

Anthems will only be played when the category fulfills the minimum number of countries for a European Title (5).

If winner is a combined country boat, the ECA anthem will be played.

 

*The Men`s 10k event, will only be opened for the 35-39 40-44 and 45-49. Older athletes will be allowed to compete within this age group.
