Official Logo of the World Championships presented

The organizing committee of the 2018 ICF Canoe sprint & Paracanoe World Championships 2018 presented today the official Logo of the event.

The organizing committee of the ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships 2018 launched today its official Logo.
Portugal will be the capital of canoeing in 2018 by hosting some of the most important World Events in our country. We will be hosting a total of 4 events in Canoe Marathon and 2 in Canoe Sprint, focusing on the World Championships of both disciplines in Prado (Vila Verde) and Montemor-o-Velho.

The first event will be a Canoe Marathon World Cup by the end of May, including the Masters (K1/C1), in Viana do Castelo. Then, we will host the Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships in August and afterwards, just a week later, a second Masters World Cup followed by the World Championships.

This will be the first time ever that Portugal hosts a Seniors World Championships in Canoe Sprint. So far, the 2015 Juniors & U23 World Championships were the most important event hosted in Portugal.
Montemor-o-Velho High Performance Centre already hosted the European Championships in 2013 and several ICF World Cups. Now, we will host the big race, the World Championships.

Portugal will also be the first country to host, in the same year, the Canoe Marathon and the Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships, and with only one week difference.

The ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships will take place from 22nd to 26th August and it will also include a Masters Championships a few days before, from 14th to 16 August.
The Masters Championships will be raced for the first time in 3 days, with the 3 Olympic distances of 1000, 500 and 200 meters in a total of 13 events.
